Llwyddo’n Lleol have announced that individuals and families that wish to return to the ARFOR region can make an application for up to £5,000 to help with the costs of moving. Llwydo’n Lleol is a part of the ARFOR programme’s marketing and promotion work stream which is run by Menter Môn and Mentera. They work to raise awareness of the opportunities available in the ARFOR region and provides advice and support for those who want to stay or return there.
The grants provide practical support to aid the process of returning to the area and are available to those who are considering returning to Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Gwynedd or Ynys Môn. This support includes help to pay travel costs, rent or mortgage costs, any childcare costs and Welsh lessons.
Applicants must fulfil the following criteria:
- Be an individual under 35 years old or a family with at least one adult 35 years old or younger.
- Be an individual that is originally from the ARFOR region or a family that has at least one member that comes from the region.
- Be an individual who speaks Welsh or is committed to the process of learning the language or a family that has one member that speaks and/or is learning Welsh.
- Are considering and looking for more information and support in order to return to ARFOR.
According to Llwyddo’n Lleol there is some flexibility regarding the above criteria, and they encourage anyone that is interested who don’t necessarily meet all the criteria to contact them to have a conversation by emailing: llwyddonlleol@rhaglenarfor.cymru. Applicants must commit to returning to the ARFOR region by March 2025. Applicants will be required to contribute to the Llwyddo’n Lleol digital campaign and take part in interviews and share their experiences of returning on camera.
