Cyngor Gwynedd announce relaunch of Croeso Cynnes heating scheme

Cyngor Gwynedd have announced that they are relaunching their Croeso Cynnes heating scheme for the winter, which will see businesses and institutions opening their doors to provide shelter and warmth for those who are facing difficulties in heating their homes.

The original scheme was started in October 2022 as a response to the cost of living crisis and the significant increase in energy costs. Cyngor Gwynedd are encouraging any businesses or institutions that have an interest in taking part in the scheme to register by visiting their website. The scheme is being run in conjunction with Menter Môn and the hope is that more locations will provide warm spaces for residents this year and into next.

Nia Jeffryes, Deputy Leader of Cyngor Gwynedd said:

‘With winter fast approaching I encourage organisations and businesses in the county that are interested in offering people a safe and warm place to do so by registering with the Croeso Cynnes scheme.’

‘With the cost of electricity and gas continuing to be a great worry for many people, it’s so important that we come together to make the most of this community effort.’

‘I am extremely grateful to all the groups and businesses who took part in the scheme last winter and who have registered for this winter as well.’

‘So please don’t suffer alone and make the most of the safe and warm places available to you.’

You can register for the scheme and find a map of the locations taking part by visiting Cyngor Gwynedd’s website.
