Snowdonia National Park announces new tourism plan

Snowdonia National Park has announced the Eryri & Gwynedd 2035 Partnership that will outline a new vision regarding how to adapt the tourism industry in the area to better serve the environment and local communities. In a statement a spokesman on behalf of the park said that this would be an ‘innovative new strategy’ that will ‘define how we measure and celebrate the contribution of tourism in Gwynedd and Eryri, emphasising community engagement and sustainability as core principles.’

The aim of the plan is to ensure that co-operation between local communities, the park and the tourism sector to ensure that residents benefit from the visitor economy while also ensuring ecological and cultural balance in those areas in which there is a high density of visitors.

The partnership will be formally launched on 25 September 2023 in Plas Tan y Bwlch, Maentwrog between 9:30am and 12:30pm. The event will include presentations by a variety of leaders on the project and by notable experts that will give an overview of the new vision.
